Jimmy Z & Slidin' Slim
About Jimmy Z
Born in Sacramento, California, Jimmy ‘Z’ Zavala has been playing music professionally since the 1970’s. After forming a few of his own bands, he moved to Los Angeles in 1980 and began recording and touring with superstar Rod Stewart. He gained international fame when he played harmonica on the Eurythmics #1 hit ‘Missionary Man.’ Besides touring with the Eurythmics, he has recorded and toured with Tom Petty, Etta James, Jaguares and many others. Though steeped in the Blues, he has become an indispensible session musician, playing on nearly 1000 tunes with artists of all genres, including Dr. Dre, Barry White, Ziggy Marley, Yes, Bon Jovi, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Slash’s Snakepit, Macy Gray, etc.
He has released four CDs of his own material and has recently been recording music for stock libraries and soundtracks for films and radio & TV commercials. He also performs with his own blues band, Jimmy Z and the ZTribe, comprised of many high-profile musicians.
About Slidin’ Slim

Slim has released a number of CD's and toured in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Poland, The Netherlands and the USA. He is nominated for the 2011 Janne Rosenqvist Memorial Prize, the finest award a Scandinavian blues musician can get!
